"Profile picture"
Στην έκθεση ”profile picture” στο Beton7 Gallery, η Ιωάννα Μύρκα αυτοσυστήνεται στον θεατή παρουσιάζοντας το σώμα της με τη μορφή ενός bonsai κεντημένο σε καμβά και τη σκέψη της μέσα από τρία βίντεο.
Η καλλιτέχνης παραθέτει σύμβολα, χρησιμοποιεί το bonsai σαν σχήμα και ερμηνεία, ενώ μεταχειρίζεται το λινό καμβά σαν δέρμα.
Μέσα από έναν επαναπροσδιορισμό στοιχείων που υπήρξαν σημαντικά στην πορεία της, χωρίζει τη ζωή της σε τρία στάδια και αναφέρεται στη σχέση της με τον χρόνο, την αντοχή και την αποδοχή της από την ίδια και τους άλλους.

"Profile picture"
In the exhibition "profile picture" at Beton7 Gallery, Ioanna Myrka introduces herself to the viewer by presenting her body in the form of a bonsai embroidered on canvas and her thoughts through three videos.
The artist cites symbols, uses bonsai as a shape and interpretation, while treating the linen canvas as skin.
Through a redefinition of elements that have been important in her path, she divides her life into three stages and refers to her relationship with time, endurance and her acceptance by herself and others.
